Wood Fired Kilns

We can create a custom design to fit your needs. We specialize in top loading anagama type kilns such as this one at Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville, NC. Our firing theory with wood kilns includes the concept that you should not have to remove coals or ash from the kiln during a firing. After all, that is what creates beautiful effects on the ware. Our fireboxes are designed to efficiently burn wood and draw most of the ash into and through the ware chamber. When the kiln is tuned properly, there is no need to shovel coals.

Gas Kilns

Reduction, Oxidation, Soda, or Salt; we can tailor the design to match your style of ceramics. We always use the highest quality brick. Our burner system has a longer, softer flame than most of the designs on the market. This allows you to achieve much more even temperature and atmosphere, and thus more consistent firing results.

We love a challenge. If you have a great source for an alternative fuel such as veggie oil or sawdust we would love to work on a firing system to accommodate your needs.
