Wheel Throwing with James Ruff
Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. with weekend open studio hours.
Upcoming classes:
— January 9 - February 27
— March 6 - April 24
— May 1 - June 19
— July 10 - August 21
$200 for 8 weeks
This class will focus on two simple things: Throwing pottery on the wheel and having fun.
Students of all skill levels are welcome!
For beginners, we will start with the basics of wheel throwing and learn new techniques each week. The goals will be simple and obtainable, building upon previous lessons and practice to learn new skills. The goal is not to become a master potter overnight, but to build a solid foundation. We also will cover decorating, glazing, and firing pots to create finished pieces.
For experienced potters, my goal is to help you build upon your foundation and refine your skills further. I believe the best way to grow as a potter is to try new forms, experiment with new ways of throwing, and push your limits. Failure is to be expected so that you can succeed the next time.
When you sign up for the Wheel Throwing with James Ruff course, you will be able 8 Thursday night classes. This also allows you to attend that weekend’s open workshop. Depending on availability, open workshops will be on Saturday or Sunday, beginning in the early afternoon.
If you are interested in signing up for more than 8 weekly classes and their associated open workshops, email warehouseartsnc@gmail.com for information on discounted rates.
25 pounds of clay is included.
Big Pots
